Lives Improve Through Engineering & 科学(点燃)

How do engineers prevent injuries by designing airbags and car seats? Or improve lives by repairing joints, 四肢 and organs?

点燃 (Lives Improve Through Engineering & Science) is a two-week residential program created by 正规的赌博app. 点燃 Introduces young women, who will complete 11th grade by July 1, 2024, to what engineers and scientists do and how they improve people's lives through math, science and technology to find solutions to human problems. Our amazing faculty teach all classes and labs. Students will also have opportunities to strike up meaningful relationships with female mentors. Below are some examples of the opportunities participants will have: 

  • See how engineers help prevent injuries by designing airbags and child car seats and testing them with crash test dummies.

  • Learn how engineers repair joints, 四肢, and organs by making replacements that are functional and durable.

  • Explore environmental challenges using science and engineering.

  • Solve crimes by combining science and technology.

  • Learn how to change the world through science and engineering.

  • Opportunities to make new friends who love math and science.

  • Great social activities with your 点燃 mentors.

Important dates to remember:

办理登机手续: Sunday, July 14, 2024; Program begins on 周一, July 15 at 8 a.m.

退房: Friday, July 26, 2024 at the conclusion of the Banquet

项目费用: $1500* 

Your program fee will cover the stay in Thompson Hall, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. All lab materials for hands-on activities during classes/workshops, all bussing and admission fees while on excursions. All evening activities with mentors. *奖学金 to attend the program may be available.

Registration Deadline: 周一, 6月3日, 2024 (Special consideration will be given to all applicants that have their application completed and all documentation turned in by 周一, 3月4日, 2024.
